Kindergarten Registration Open for 2025-2026

Children who will be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2025, are eligible to attend Kindergarten beginning in September 2025. Quincy Public Schools offers free full-day Kindergarten for all students.

Kindergarten registration is a two-step process:

  1. Families are asked first to complete an online Pre-Registration form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJhsI9KWXaNfQo8KcXINCoqC6xoK1ocirXJ60bGu0_ael53A/viewform?usp=sharing

  2. Families will be emailed in early February with information about the next steps to complete the registration process, including scheduling a registration appointment. The appointment may be at the school site or at the Central Registration office, where interpretation services are available.

If your child presently attends a Pre-Kindergarten program at the DeCristofaro Learning Center or Snug Harbor, it is not necessary to register for Kindergarten.

If you have questions about Kindergarten registration, please email lauraowens@quincypublicschools.com or call 617-984-8702.

Citywide PTO Leadership Statement on Lunar New Year

Citywide PTO has steadfastly supported our Asian American families’ request that QPS recognize Lunar New Year as a holiday, allowing students to spend the most important day in their culture with their families. For three years, Asian American families and students have advocated in front of the School Committee for the declaration of Lunar New Year as a school holiday. When the school committee continuously voted against this, they turned to the Quincy City Council—an elected body that more accurately represents the diversity of our city—who immediately acted on behalf of the constituents they were elected to represent. While we know our school committee takes issue with the path used to get Lunar New Year recognized, we hope that they see how important this issue is with our Asian American families and students and choose to value people over process. The Citywide PTO is immensely grateful for the unanimous support of the School Committee Member Courtney Perdios, Quincy City Council and Mayor Koch in recognizing Lunar New Year as a school holiday.
